Our local Northern Hills Board of Realtors has just released the 2008 numbers for Realtors for Kids and they definitely give us something to smile about on this cold day!
- $43,464.09 has been given to children in need in the Northern Hills this year from our local Realtors for Kids organization.
- 120 charities have received direct funding from Realtors for Kids.
- Hundreds of children have benefited from contributions Realtors for Kids has made to support organizations like NH Area CASA, Suncatchers Riding Academy, Newell Backpack program, Spearfish School Supply Drive, and many others.
Today, Realtors for Kids is continuing their giving by delivering Christmas presents and meals to many families throughout the Hills.
This is a fabulous organization and we are proud to be a part of it! Thank you to all of our affliates and community members that help us by raising money and being a much needed voice to some children writing requests. Yesterday, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg launched the “Broadway Goes Green” initiative which plans to reduce this American icon’s carbon footprint significantly within one year’s time. This initiative is only a part of a larger goal to reduce the entire city’s carbon footprint by 30% before 2030. The best part of the plan is way it will be accomplished… By making little changes such as using compact florescent lights (CFLs) over traditional light bulbs, printing play bills on recycled paper, and washing costumes in cold water.
